What To Know:
Floriani Dream Weave Fusible® is an essential fabric-preparation product designed to protect delicate materials during machine embroidery and garment construction. When embroidering fragile fabrics such as silk, satin, lamé, chamois, Swiss batiste, high-quality quilting cottons, linen, Lycra, and spandex, needle penetration can cause shredding or damage because these fibers cannot withstand repeated stitching. Dream Weave Fusible helps solve this problem by adding gentle support and structure—without altering the fabric’s appearance or drape.
By fusing Dream Weave Fusible® to the back of the fabric, delicate textiles gain added body and stability, allowing them to handle embroidery stitches more successfully. This makes it especially valuable for fabrics commonly used in dance costumes, performance wear, swimwear, and fine garments. Dream Weave Fusible® can also be used as a lightweight lining for suits and garment construction, offering reinforcement without bulk.
It’s important to note that Dream Weave is not a stabilizer. Instead, it plays a crucial role in prepping and protecting delicate fabrics before embroidery begins. Proper preparation helps prevent shredding, raveling, and distortion during stitching.
Another popular use for Floriani Dream Weave® is to cover scratchy stitches on the back of embroidery designs. This is especially beneficial for baby clothing, children’s apparel, golf shirts, and garments worn close to the skin. Thanks to its six-way stretch, Dream Weave® moves naturally with the fabric and remains comfortable without adding stiffness or bulk.
